Senior Dynamics 365 Architect
Hybrid – Greater Boston, MA
About the Opportunity
Join a privately held enterprise data platform company — whose technology is trusted by the world's largest enterprises across finance, healthcare, telecom, and beyond. With 30 years of engineering excellence and a recent high-profile partnership with Google Cloud to power agentic AI workflows, this company is at the forefront of the data revolution.
Now, they're making a strategic investment to bring their internal Dynamics 365 capabilities in-house — and they need a technical architect to own it.
This is not a staff-aug engagement or a consulting rotation. You'll be the D365 authority for the entire enterprise, reporting into leadership and shaping how a company that builds world-class data infrastructure runs its own business systems.
Why This Company?
This organization builds an agentic data platform that spans the full data engineering lifecycle — transformation, quality, lineage, governance, and orchestration — serving multi-cloud enterprises operating across hundreds of data sources, from modern cloud services to legacy mainframes. Their engineering bar is exceptionally high and employee tenure is long.
They understand complex systems, legacy modernization, and enterprise-grade architecture — and they expect the same caliber of thinking applied to their internal business platforms.
The Environment You'll Own
You'll architect and lead a modern Microsoft ecosystem supporting a sophisticated engineering organization:
- Core Platform: Microsoft Dynamics 365 (CRM/Sales, Finance, HR, Expenses)
- Analytics: Power BI consuming Dynamics data
- Integrations: ServiceNow (customer support), shipping systems, product delivery workflows
- Legacy Modernization: Lotus Notes data and workflows (Keys, Expenses, HR history) — a migration opportunity, not just maintenance
- Planned Builds: mobile time tracking, contract/SOW management
What You'll Do
- Own the architecture — all technical decisions for D365 customizations, plugins, and integrations across the enterprise
- Write and review production code (C#, .NET, Azure, SQL Server) as a hands-on technical leader, not just a diagram-drawer
- Lead and mentor a growing team of application developers (building from a small core team)
- Design upgrade-resilient patterns that protect the business from breaking changes during platform updates — this company builds systems meant to last decades, and they expect the same durability internally
- Drive legacy modernization — migrate Lotus Notes workflows into D365, applying the same rigor this company brings to migrating enterprise clients off COBOL and legacy ETL tools
- Collaborate with Program Managers, Systems teams, and executive stakeholders to align D365 strategy with business priorities
What You Bring
Must-Have:
- Deep, proven experience with Dynamics 365 — customizations, plugins, integrations, and navigating major upgrades
- Hands-on expertise in C#/.NET and the broader Microsoft stack (Azure, SQL Server)
- Strong integration experience with enterprise tools (ServiceNow, Power BI, or similar)
- Track record of leading or mentoring development teams
You're the Right Fit If:
- You think in systems, not just features — you understand data lineage, governance, and why metadata matters as much as the data itself
- You're energized by building a capability from the ground up, not inheriting someone else's playbook
- You can communicate architecture decisions to both developers and executives
- You've worked in environments where engineering rigor and long-term durability are non-negotiable
- Legacy modernization excites you — you see Lotus Notes migration as a design challenge, not a chore
