Our highly successful client is looking for someone to serve as Business Manager for the Pharmaceutical Development market. Assume leadership role in all aspects of developing strategic direction for the company for both Ethical and Generic customers (i.e. coordination with local field marketing, sales, R&D as well as Product Marketing). Primary objective is to increase our client’s revenue and market share in the pharmaceutical industry.
Responsibilities will include:
• Lead a team to develop strategies to address trends in the pharmaceutical industry
• Work cross functionally to develop strategy to increase revenue and market share.
• Work with local field marketing and sales teams on tactical implementation
• Work with R&D and Product Management to develop innovative “Total Solutions” that meet customer business needs (solutions to include instrumentation (LC and MS), software, consumables and services).
• Attend and participate in regional, national and global conferences and trade shows as necessary.
• Development of materials for sales teams to use as well as sales training materials.
• Develop collaboration with individuals that are leaders in this field
Minimum requirements
• In-Depth knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry (ethical, generic and CR(M)O’s).
• In-depth knowledge of compliance requirements within the pharmaceutical market
• Strong interpersonal management skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong background and an understanding of analytical instrumentation, software and services to gain rapid credibility with clients.
• Excellent PC skills, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Microsoft Project
• Willing and able to handle a travel schedule of 25-30%.
• MS or PhD scientific filed with 5-7 years experience within or serving the pharmaceutical industry required (MBA a plus).
Experience in instrument sales and account management a plus.
Advanced degrees preferred
