Who pays for your services?

  • Our services are paid for by employers.

Can you teach me about how to negotiate a salary package?

  • We work with both the employer and the candidate to ensure that salary negotiations are productive for both the candidate and the employer.

Do you only have jobs in the Boston area?

  • No, we have a nationwide affiliation with over 2000 other agencies across the world.  We have placed people from Charlestown to Beijing and in between.

What is the best time to contact a recruiter?

  • Anytime is fine, but ideally well before you think you have to.  A recruiter is like your doctor or dentist (with a better sense of humor) and should be contacted at least yearly so you can understand how marketable your skills are.  Regular contact will also insure that you will be called when that “perfect” opportunity presents itself.

Is there really such a thing as “The hidden job market”?

  • No, not really but some opportunities do play “hide and seek”.  The job descriptions “hide” in the minds of busy hiring managers until they call a recruiter to “seek” out the perfect candidate.  We have many such clients particularly in start-ups.  They simply do not have time to wade through hundreds of resume, they use our services to get a short list (or one) well qualified applicants who  can make a difference immediately.

What can I expect from an Iconstaff recruiter?

What do you expect of candidates?

  • We are please to work with and accommodate all kinds of people.  We do not have any big rules except for please get back to us after each and every interview we set up for you.  We appreciate your courtesy, trust and professionalism.  We urge you to ask us anything about how we can help advance your career.

What does Iconstaff expect of its client companies?

  • Our clients are very special companies and often industry leaders and “game changers” and sometimes just regular well run companies.  They all share one common vision which starts with hiring well.  We have come to rely on and expect nothing but the terrific work environments, great benefits, competitive pay and meaningful projects.  We do expect that our clients will treat you with respect whether you have been unemployed for some time or we recruited you specifically for their role (known as passive candidate).  We select our clients carefully and are seldom disappointed.

Is it true that some of the best people write the worst resumes?

  • Yes!  Do not hesitate to ask us to help you asses your resume.  It is the one piece of information about you which is being seen and interpreted by a variety of audiences.  We can help you speak to them all.

Do I need a resume to contact a recruiter?

  • Absolutely not, let’s talk! We are often able to secure interview for our candidates without a formal resume.  We will help you put one together if need be.
